Hoover Dam is located bout 30 miles southeast of Las Vegas at the Arizona-Nevada border.  It was built in the Black Canyon on the Colorado River. It is the highest concrete arch dam in the United States standing at 726 feet high and 1,244 feet long.  Lake Meade was formed from the creation of the dam and extends 110 miles up from it. It is the largest man-made lake in the world.
