Grand Teton National Park is located in Wyoming about 12 miles north of Jackson Hole and about 50 miles south of Yellowstone National Park. It is known for its spectacular peaks, alpine meadows, and mountain lakes. Grand Teton is probably the most beautiful range in the Rocky Mountains. Towering more than 7,000 feet above the valley of Jackson Hole, the Grand Teton rises to an elevation of 13,770 feet. There are twelve peaks that reach above 12,000 feet in elevation which is high enough to support a dozen mountain glaciers. The Teton Range is the youngest range in the Rockies and displays some of the oldest rocks in North America.
